Stoke 22nd Scouts
Stoke 22nd Scouts have been based on London Road since 1975. They approached VAST for help as their building was in need of a rewire, without the rewire the building would have to close. VAST helped the group to secure £10k from Awards for All. This was the start of a great relationship and we have worked together to secure further funding for the group to develop.

“Without the help from Voluntary Action the group would be struggling to survive.”
Mike Willis – Stoke 22nd Scouts.

Holden Lane Residents Association
“Holden Lane Residents Association is a small community group dedicated to improving the local the and provide help and support to the residents of Holden Lane.

Since we formed in 2004, we have made a big difference in our community. However, none of this would have been possible without the help from outside organisations, namely Voluntary Action. They have given us a great deal of help and support.

Our biggest venture so far has been the installation of a play park. Voluntary Action have helped us to raise nearly half a million pounds for this project. It has been a long arduous task but, by the end of this year, the park will be in situ.

Work starts on the installation of the play park.

There have been other occasions where we have needed to raise funds for other (smaller) projects i.e. Mother and Toddlers Group. This group wanted to set up in addition to our existing playgroups for older children. Voluntary Action stood by us and successfully helped us to secure funds necessary to start the group. The Mother and Toddler group has been running for approximately 6 mths mow.

Furthermore, Voluntary Action have always come through for us when we have needed assistance, whether it be help with fundraising or guidance when completing funding applications, no job is too small and we consider ourselves to be be very fortunate to have their help, skills and knowledge at our disposal.”
John Reynolds, Chairperson – Holden Lane Residents Association.

VAST send out a directory of funding opportunities in our weekly bulletin and in our bi-monthly newsletter. If you would like to receive this information please download & return our Membership application form which is available from our membership page.
