Children & Families Team -
VCS Engagement Partnership for Children and Young People's (CYP) Services

Voluntary Action has been commissioned to provide strategic support and
co-ordination of voluntary and community sector services for children and families by:

  • Ensuring good regular communication exists between statutory and voluntary organisations
  • Supporting organisations to enable them to compete in the market place
  • Facilitate and support VCS Children and Young People’s services through the Engagement partnership and network.

The VCS Engagement Partnership is part of the Children's Trust arrangements as an implementing change group under the positive contribution priority. The Partnership was set up with the following aims:

  1. Develop and work within a strategy with clear outcomes for organisations working with children and young people in the voluntary sector
  2. Promote shared learning within and outside the sector regarding children, young people and their carers
  3. Be a collective voice in lobbying for change in order to improve the lives of children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent
  4. View Children and young people holistically by taking into account their parents, carers and families
  5. Be inclusive and promote equality of opportunity
  6. Recognise and promote “quality and accountability” of services for children and young people within the sector
  7. Encourage the sector to maximise the resources it has by better co-ordination of activities.

The Partnership meets on a regular basis and is open to all VCS organisations working with children and young people.
