Children & Families Team -
Parent Engagement Partnership

The PEP is a group made up of parents that aims to enable the views of all parents/carers to be heard. It enables the Local Authority and other agencies to consult with all parents/carers on proposed strategies and developments across the City.

It provides a point of contact with parents/carers for services and organisations, parent representatives to sit on meetings / groups as appropriate, a support network for all parents in Stoke on Trent, a well constructed, effective way of sharing views and having an input, a welcoming, safe and supportive environment to share, support and respect for all group members and an excellent structure for disseminating information and views of parents across the city

All parents receive a skills analysis and an individual learning plan once the new worker is in post.

Aim:
To provide a way of consulting with Parents/Carers across the City

Objectives:

  • To build an effective and representational process to make sure that parents/carers are heard on matters that are important to them, their young people and the future of the City
  • To have representation on the PEP from all active parent groups City Wide especially vulnerable groups
  • To influence local issues that will bring benefit to parents/carers, young people and the   community
  • To keep PEP members informed of developments within the city that may impact on them/their young people
  • To create an excellent communication structure to ensure that information is reaching all groups and fed back into the PEP
  • To support parents/carers to attend the Parenting Implementing Change Group and voice their views
