Children & Families Team -
Parent/Family Events

The Engagement Team are contracted by the Children and Young People’s Trust to support / develop participation and engagement of parents, carers, children and young people in the Trust agenda and activities.

We work with and support organisations across the City to understand and inform the development of the Parenting Strategy, Parent Engagement Partnership, Quality Award, Primary and Special Congress events, and other participation activities by giving parents, carers, children and young people opportunities to have their say on services and strategies across the City. We also provide training on a variety of subjects and one of the ways that we do this through our fantastic events.

The Support Network for All Parenting Practitioners (snapp) event:
This event give anyone working directly with parents the opportunity to network /add to their toolkits, it enables practitioners to make links/network/build relationships and find out about other people in similar roles.

The event provides information on relevant topics relating to practice with parents and has recently developed to link in with the four educational clusters to shape services in their respective area’s.

Parent Conferences and Consultation Events
They give the parents the opportunity to give their views and opinions on priorities and strategies that effect them and their children and young people. They give parents a say in the Children and Young Peoples Trust priorities and have a say on what they think the future priorities should be. By having events solely to consult with parents it gives them a day which is about them and enables them to not only feel valued but see how important they are.
