Champion for Children
The role of Sue Thomas, Champion for Children
My role on the Children and Young People’s Trust Board and Local Safeguarding Children Board is to promote the ‘voice’ of children and young people to ensure that services take into account what children and young people need.
I promote effective lines of communication between those commissioning and providing services to children and young people in and of the City of Stoke on Trent and those children and young people and children receiving them, in order to facilitate a culture of involving children and young people in the leadership of service development within Stoke on Trent.
I provide challenge at a strategic level to the Children and Young People’s Trust, wider Local Strategic Partnership and individual partner organisations regarding the robustness and quality of engagement and participation of children and young people and their families in service development and ensure that the Children and Young People’s Trust and wider Local Strategic Partnership are actively working to and promoting Engagement Strategy and Community Engagement Framework.
